Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Travel Accountant who is proficient in using Tally software. The Travel Accountant will be responsible for managing financial transactions, reconciling ledgers, handling cash and bank transactions, and ensuring accurate accounting records for our Travel Division. This role also involves working closely with staff, tracking revenue, and providing regular updates to management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cash and Bank Transactions Handling and Recording:
- Maintain and record all cash and bank transactions related to the Travel Division.
- Ensure accuracy and timely processing of financial transactions.
2. Staff Sales Closing and Follow-ups:
- Assist in closing staff sales transactions and follow up on any outstanding issues.
- Collaborate with the staff to ensure sales records are accurate and up-to-date.
3. All Ledger Reconciliations:
- Reconcile various ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain up-to-date ledger records for the Travel Division.
4. Staff Revenue Updates and Daily Notifications:
- Monitor staff revenue, track progress, and notify management of any shortfalls.
- Provide regular updates on revenue performance to help guide decision-making.
5. Corporate Invoicing and Statement Dispatch:
- Prepare and dispatch invoices to corporate clients.
- Ensure timely delivery of statements and documents to clients as needed.
6. Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) Updates and Follow-up:
- Maintain records of accounts receivable and payable.
- Follow up on outstanding payments and invoices.
7. Documentations with Proofs and Approvals:
- Ensure that all financial transactions and documentation are supported with appropriate proofs and approvals.
- Maintain organized and audit-ready documentation.
8. Reports to Line Managers:
- Provide regular reports to line managers regarding financial transactions, revenue updates, and other relevant data.
- Collaborate with management to support decision-making processes.
9. Tally During Data Migrations:
- Review and update Chart of Accounts (COA) during data migrations.
- Provide technical support in aligning migrated data within Tally.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
- Proficiency in Tally software is essential.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the travel industry.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, ledger reconciliation, and data management.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance is a plus.
