Job Title: Junior IT Support Technician
Location: Dasma , Kuwait
Department: IT/Technology
Reports To: IT Manager/Head of IT
Job Summary:
The Junior IT Support Technician will assist in providing technical support to staff, teachers, and students within the school. The role includes troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, supporting the school's IT infrastructure, and ensuring that technology in classrooms and administrative offices functions effectively. This is an entry-level position designed for someone interested in starting a career in educational IT support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Helpdesk Support: Provide first-level support to school staff, teachers, and students. Respond to helpdesk requests, troubleshoot issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity, and escalate more complex problems to senior IT staff.
• Classroom Technology Support: Assist in setting up and maintaining classroom technology, including interactive whiteboards, projectors, computers, tablets, and other educational tools. Ensure that all classroom technology is functional and ready for use.
• User Assistance: Help teachers and students with software applications, including educational platforms, learning management systems (LMS), and productivity tools. Provide support for online testing and remote learning tools.
• Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on school IT equipment, including computers, printers, and network devices. Install updates, run antivirus scans, and ensure that all systems are secure and up to date.
• Training: Assist in providing basic IT training to teachers, staff, and students. Help with onboarding new staff by setting up their IT accounts and providing an overview of the school's technology resources.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the IT Manager/ Head of IT and other staff to ensure the smooth operation of the school's IT systems.

Qualifications:
• Education: A degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional) are a plus.
• Experience: 0-2 years of experience in an IT support role, preferably within an educational environment. Internships or related experience are advantageous.
• Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, networking fundamentals, and hardware troubleshooting. Familiarity with educational software and platforms (e.g., Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams) is beneficial.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, patience, and a service-oriented attitude. Ability to work well with children, teachers, and non-technical staff members.
• Other Requirements: Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, especially those used in an educational setting. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic school environment.
Working Conditions:
• This position is primarily based in the school environment, with responsibilities in classrooms, administrative offices, and possibly other school locations.
• Standard school hours(7:00am to 2:30pm) with occasional after-hours support during school events or special projects.
