Civil Engineer - Office Fit-Out Construction Project (Khafji, KSA)

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to oversee and manage the civil aspects of an office fit-out construction project in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in civil engineering, specifically in the context of commercial office fit-out projects. The role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, managing project timelines, ensuring compliance with local construction regulations, and ensuring the successful delivery of the project on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Design:
• Review project plans, designs, and specifications to ensure they align with client requirements and local standards.
• Assist in the design process to ensure constructability, efficiency, and compliance with civil engineering best practices.

Site Management:
• Supervise and manage all on-site civil engineering activities and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) activities.
• Ensure that the work is executed according to project drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors to ensure smooth project flow.

Quality Control & Compliance:
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with local construction regulations, building codes, and safety standards.
• Ensure that all materials used meet the required quality standards and are approved by the project management team.
• Address any potential issues or risks early to prevent project delays or cost overruns.

Budget & Cost Control:
• Work with the project team to support the project’s civil engineering budget.
• Monitor and track project costs, ensuring they remain within the set budget.
• Provide regular updates on project progress, timelines, and any variances to the project team.

Health & Safety:
• Ensure that all construction activities comply with Saudi Arabia’s safety regulations and Company safety policies.
• Conduct safety inspections and participate in safety meetings to promote a safe work environment.

Stakeholder Communication:
• Communicate effectively with the project team, clients, contractors, and local authorities.
• Provide technical guidance and support to other project stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering, with specific experience in office fit-out or commercial construction projects.
• Proficient in using engineering software such as AutoCAD and MS Office.
• Excellent understanding of local Saudi building codes and regulations.
• Strong project management skills with experience in coordinating between multiple disciplines.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities. Proficiency in both English and Arabic (written and spoken).
• PMP certification (preferred).

Working Conditions:

• This role will be based on-site, requiring a significant amount of time managing and overseeing construction activities.
• Some travel may be required between project location and Kuwait or to meetings with stakeholders.
