Description

As the Health and Safety Officer – will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety policies and procedures specific to warehouse and distribution operations. He will collaborate with warehouse management, lead safety training programs, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines tailored for warehouse and distribution operations.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and inspections of warehouse facilities to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Collaborate with warehouse management to promote a proactive safety culture and provide training on health and safety topics.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with regulations.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health and safety programs and initiatives within the warehouse and distribution facilities.
• Stay informed about changes in health and safety legislation and industry best practices, and update policies accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training sessions, and inspections specific to warehouse and distribution.

Knowledge and Skills Needed
• Safety Training Certificate required NEBOSH / ASP / OHST
• Bachelor's degree
• Proven experience in health and safety management, with a focus on warehouse and distribution environments. 3 to 5 Years Experience.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Familiarity with warehouse and distribution operations, including inventory management.
• Ability to work collaboratively with warehouse management and cross-functional teams.
