Required Junior Cost Controller

Position Overview:
The Junior Cost Controller is responsible for monitoring and controlling costs across all departments, with a focus on minimizing wastage and optimizing the cost of production processes, including adherence to product recipes. This role supports the finance and operations teams in tracking expenses, analyzing costs, and ensuring the factory operates efficiently within budget while maintaining quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
o Track daily expenses related to production, purchasing, logistics, and labor.
o Monitor material usage, including adherence to product recipes, and identify inefficiencies or wastage.
o Analyze cost data to identify variances against the budget and standard costs.
o Ensure production processes align with standard recipes and ingredient usage.
o Collaborate with chefs to validate recipe costs and recommend adjustments to reduce expenses without compromising quality.
o Monitor the actual ingredient usage per batch and identify deviations from the recipe.
o Track and report on production wastage .
o Work with operations and production teams to identify root causes of wastage and implement reduction strategies.
o Develop and maintain a wastage log to highlight trends and cost implications.
o Prepare and maintain cost reports, including detailed analysis of raw materials, recipe costs, and wastage impact.
o Support in creating monthly, quarterly, and annual cost analysis reports for management review.
o Assist in preparing budgets for raw materials, production, and operational expenses.
o Monitor adherence to approved budgets and report any variances.
o Review supplier invoices and production records to ensure alignment with budgets and cost expectations.
o Identify opportunities to reduce costs in recipes, material procurement, and production processes.
o Assist in evaluating alternative suppliers or production methods for cost reduction.
o Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of recipe costs, production wastage, and cost-related data.
o Provide detailed cost and wastage reports during audits and financial reviews.


Skills and Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience: 1-2 years in finance, cost control, or production monitoring (experience in food production is preferred).
o Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software (SAB & Oracle Hospitality experience is preferred).
o Knowledge of recipe costing and waste reduction principles.
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
o Attention to detail and accuracy.
o Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
