Job Description:
A leading container-based company is looking for depot manager. Depot Operations Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operation activities at yard. He has to plan, direct and coordinate activities related to inspection, repair, maintenance, and storage of dry and Reefer containers. The Depot Operations Manager will assist in developing and leading a highly effective team which is responsible to provide excellent service to internal and external Customers.
Job Responsibilities:
• Manage the daily operations of the container yard
• Monitoring container Gate in and Gate Out.
• Monitoring container Inspection and repair of all containers at Yard.
• Approve estimate for repairing damaged containers
• Ensure the timeliness and integrity of all inventory transactions
• Manage and maintain an effective Yard Management program to achieve specified accuracy rate
• Analyze and forecast the workflow to appropriate work centers to balance workloads
• Review and evaluate the performance of all yard operations functions, address performance gaps and take corrective action
• Responsible for personnel matters related to hiring, training/development, termination and grievance of employees
• Conduct yearly performance appraisal for all employees working at depot.
• Ensuring all customer requests, enquiries and queries are dealt with in an efficient, personable and professional manner
• Demonstrating strong communication skills to deal with customers and employees at all levels of the business
• Strong leadership skills
• Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and the ability to react to changing demands in a professional manner.
• Experience of working in a fast-paced operational structure is desirable
Experience & Qualification:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Ideally 3-6 years of successful management experience in yard operations
• Previous supervisory or management experience
• Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
• Preferable to have IICL certificate for conducting container inspection.
