We are hiring for Geologist and Geo Technical Engineer.

Geologist JD:

Key Field Responsibilities
• Site Reconnaissance: Conduct initial site visits to visually assess geology, topography, and any visible signs of potential ground issues. This includes identifying rock outcrops, soil types, and existing structures.
• Supervising Drilling and Sampling: Oversee and direct drilling operations to create boreholes and trenches. This is crucial for collecting undisturbed and representative soil and rock samples. The engineer must ensure that samples are collected correctly and properly logged to maintain data integrity.
• In-situ Testing: Perform or supervise on-site tests to measure soil and rock properties directly in their natural state. Common tests in Kuwait include the Standard Penetration Test (SPT) and Cone Penetration Test (CPT), Downhole Test, Cross-hole Testing, Pressure Meter Test which measure the soil''s strength and various dynamic properties of soil. They also conduct permeability and plate load tests.
• Groundwater Monitoring: Install and monitor piezometers to record groundwater levels and pressure. Understanding groundwater conditions is vital in Kuwait, especially in coastal areas and with the presence of Sabkha soils, which are salt-bearing and can be problematic for construction.
• Logging and Documentation: Maintain detailed, accurate records of all field activities. This includes logging borehole data, describing soil and rock layers (e.g., color, texture, strength), and recording the results of all in-situ tests. This information forms the basis of the final geotechnical report.
• On-site Problem Solving: Address unexpected geological conditions that arise during investigation or construction, such as encountering a different soil type than expected or a sudden change in groundwater level. They provide immediate technical guidance to the field crew to mitigate risks and ensure the project continues safely.



Geo Technical Engineer JD:

Site Investigations:

Common tests include the Standard Penetration Test (SPT) and Cone Penetration Test (CPT), Downhole Test, Cross-hole Testing, Pressure Meter Test which measure the soil''s strength and various dynamic properties of soil. • Data Collection: Geotechnical engineers are responsible for accurately logging boreholes, documenting soil strata, and recording groundwater levels. This information is crucial for later analysis and reporting.
• On-site Support: They provide technical support during the construction phase, addressing any unforeseen geotechnical challenges that may arise and ensuring that construction activities, such as excavation and foundation installation, adhere to the design specifications.
