We are hiring Lab Technician candidate urgently.

Lab Technician – Construction / Precast Industry
Position Summary

The Lab Technician supports quality control operations within the construction and precast production environment by conducting material tests, analyzing results, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, standards, and safety requirements. The role ensures that concrete, aggregates, and precast elements consistently meet required engineering and durability standards.

Key Responsibilities
1. Material Testing

Perform routine tests on concrete, aggregates, cement, admixtures, sand, and reinforcement materials.

Conduct tests such as slump, compressive strength, sieve analysis, moisture content, cube & cylinder casting, and curing.

Inspect raw materials to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Maintain and operate universal testing machines and other QC laboratory equipment.

2. Quality Control & Documentation

Record test results accurately and maintain complete documentation for audits and certification.

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality control reports.

Verify that concrete mixes and precast components align with approved mix designs and project specifications.

Assist in continuous monitoring of production quality during batching, casting, and finishing stages.

3. Equipment & Lab Maintenance

Ensure all testing machines and lab equipment are calibrated and functioning properly.

Perform routine maintenance and report equipment issues promptly.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the testing laboratory and curing rooms.

4. Compliance & Standards

Follow testing methods as per ASTM, BS, EN, or project-specific standards.

Ensure all QC processes comply with internal quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).

Support external audits, product certifications, and compliance inspections.

5. Production Support

Collaborate with the batching plant team to verify mix proportions and adjust materials when necessary.

Monitor concrete delivery and casting activities to ensure consistency in workability, temperature, and setting time.

Report non-conformances and support corrective actions to prevent quality issues in precast products.

Qualifications & Skills
Education

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Material Testing, Construction Technology, or related field.

Experience

1–5 years of experience in construction, ready-mix, or precast QC laboratories.

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of concrete technology and material testing standards.

Ability to perform and interpret common field and laboratory tests.

Familiarity with precast manufacturing processes.
