The infrastructure engineer role is responsible of design, implement, and maintain the infrastructure that support our organization’s IT operations. This includes ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of servers, networks, and storage systems to meet the business’s needs, in addition to develop and suggest disaster recovery plans and procedures. Infrastructure Engineers ensure that critical systems and data are protected and can be quickly restored in the event of a failure or disaster, thereby supporting business continuity and minimizing downtime. The Infrastructure Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to provide the needed support. Responsibilities & Accountabilities Manage the IT installation, including complex server environments, LAN and WAN networks, VPN and application configurations Developing and designing network architecture and computer systems infrastructure. Monitor and control the infrastructure and network resources in addition to providing the needed support to fix and enhance the infrastructure. Evaluate technical aspects of the IT new projects, ensuring adherence to standards and requirements. Manage the network security and ensure that the end users are secured. Provide the needed support to the end users regarding network issues and security in addition to the basic support for the day-to-day operation IT issues. Monitor the network devices such as computers, printers, IP Phones, UPS and IOT devices. Manage the servers and end user’s backups. Manage the communication and maintain the good relations between the IT department and the vendors for any of the department purchases. Responsible for maintaining the organization’s IT assets by fixing them in-house if needed or by sending them to be fixed or maintained by a third party. Ensure backup procedures are followed and storage and archival of historic data as per defined policies. Tests and executes backup and disaster recovery for infrastructure solutions. Conduct quarterly audit of all the organization IT assets. Participate in yearly ISO audits to ensure compliance is met. Responsible for the organization data center (On premise and over cloud). Requirements and Skills Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. Strong knowledge of Nutanix. Strong knowledge of Cisco and Fortinet Core switches, Wireless Controller. Strong knowledge of FortiGate Firewalls Strong knowledge of VMWare Environment. Strong knowledge of Windows server, Domain controller, Cloud computing, IT security, networking, hardware and software. Having knowledge of the Avaya system is a plus. Having knowledge of the Linux OS is a plus Having knowledge of managing the SQL and MYSQL databases is a plus. Extensive experience in managing IT infrastructure in complex environments Minimum 5 years’ experience Familiarity with industry-standard technologies and best practices Good planning and organization skills. Strong leadership skills with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Possession of valid Kuwait driving license is must. Competencies Technical expertise in IT infrastructure design, management, and optimization. Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify problems and implement effective solutions. Proactive and adaptable, with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
