Solaris/Unix Administrator (with Storage Experience)

Job Description

Manage, monitor, and maintain Solaris/Unix server environments.

Perform installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting of Solaris/Unix operating systems.

Administer storage infrastructure including SAN, NAS, LUN allocation, zoning, and multipathing.

Monitor system performance, storage utilization, and ensure high availability of critical services.

Handle backup, recovery, and disaster recovery operations in coordination with backup teams.

Support server and storage migrations, upgrades, and capacity planning activities.

Troubleshoot hardware, OS, filesystem, and storage-related issues.

Implement security hardening, user access management, and compliance requirements.

Coordinate with application, virtualization, network, and infrastructure teams for issue resolution.

Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and daily health check reports.

Provide support during planned maintenance and critical incidents.

Required Skills

Strong experience in Solaris/Unix administration.

Good knowledge of storage technologies (SAN/NAS/Fibre Channel/iSCSI).

Experience with filesystem management, RAID, and storage provisioning.

Knowledge of backup solutions and disaster recovery concepts.

Familiarity with scripting and system monitoring tools is preferred.
