Description

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Technician to join our maintenance team in the Oil & Gas sector.

Qualification and Experience

ITI/Technical Diploma in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification
Minimum 5 years of electrical maintenance experience, preferably in the Oil & Gas, petrochemical or refinery sector
Experience in preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance
Ability to read electrical drawings, single-line diagrams and equipment manuals
Knowledge of Permit-to-Work procedures, LOTO and electrical safety requirements
Experience working in hazardous areas and knowledge of Ex-certified electrical equipment
Good troubleshooting and fault-finding skills

Technical Knowledge

Candidates should have practical maintenance experience with:

LV and MV switchgear
Actuators and MOVs
Electrical motors and motor control centres
Transformers and bus ducts
Variable-frequency drives and soft starters
UPS, battery chargers and battery banks
Diesel generators and synchronising systems
Lighting and small-power systems
Electrical protection relays and control circuits
Cable termination, glanding, testing and jointing
Insulation-resistance, continuity and hi-pot testing

Additional Requirements

Valid electrical competency or trade certificate
Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
Willingness to work shifts and attend emergency breakdowns
Good physical fitness and safety awareness
Basic English communication and reporting skills
Valid driving licence will be an advantage
Oil & Gas safety training and PTW certification will be preferred
