Job Summary
The Veterinarian is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and preventing diseases and injuries in animals. The role involves providing medical care, conducting examinations, performing surgeries, prescribing medications, advising pet owners on animal health and welfare, and ensuring compliance with veterinary regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
• Conduct physical examinations and health assessments of animals.
• Diagnose illnesses, diseases, and injuries using clinical evaluations and diagnostic tests.
• Prescribe medications and treatment plans.
• Administer vaccinations and preventive healthcare programs.
• Perform routine and emergency surgical procedures.
• Monitor patient recovery and provide follow-up care.
Animal Care & Welfare
• Ensure high standards of animal welfare and ethical treatment.
• Advise pet owners on nutrition, hygiene, behavior, and preventive healthcare.
• Educate clients regarding treatment options and costs.
• Maintain accurate medical records for all patients.
Diagnostic & Laboratory Services
• Request and interpret laboratory tests, X-rays, ultrasound scans, and other diagnostic procedures.
• Analyze test results to determine appropriate treatment plans.
• Coordinate with laboratory personnel and specialists when required.
Operational Responsibilities
• Maintain veterinary equipment and ensure proper use.
• Follow clinic safety, hygiene, and infection-control procedures.
• Manage pharmaceutical inventory and controlled medications.
• Assist in developing clinical protocols and healthcare programs.
Emergency Services
• Provide emergency medical and surgical care when required.
• Respond promptly to urgent and critical animal health cases.
Qualifications
• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent veterinary degree.
• Valid veterinary license/registration as required by local authorities.
• Additional certifications in surgery, diagnostics, or animal specialties are advantageous.
Experience
• 2–5 years of veterinary clinical experience preferred.
• Experience in small animal, large animal, or mixed practice environments.
• Experience with surgical procedures and emergency cases is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
• Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
• Excellent surgical and medical treatment capabilities.
• Knowledge of animal diseases, medications, and preventive care.
• Strong communication and client relationship skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations.

Working Conditions
• May require working evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts.

Employment Type
Full-Time – 10 to 12 hrs/day – 30 days paid leave/yr, accommodation and transportation covered by the company
Salary
Basic KD150/mo + 1% commission
