JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities;

Installation

Install, route, terminate, and test fiber optic cables, ODFs, patch panels, and closures.
Perform fiber splicing, jointing, closure mounting, and pressure testing.
Handle duct, armored, and ribbon cables up to 288 fibers.
Conduct drum, spool, and post-installation cable tests.
Manage cable routing, patch cords, and network documentation.
Follow ITU standards and industry best practices.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Perform fiber testing using OTDR, power meters, laser sources, and fiber scopes.
Diagnose and resolve fiber network faults.
Conduct site surveys, interpret splice plans, and prepare BOQs.
Execute mid-span, straight-through, and live fiber jointing.
Prepare testing reports and project documentation.
Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams.

Equipment Handling

Operate and maintain splicing machines, OTDRs, VFLs, power meters, and related testing equipment.
Ensure all tools and test equipment are calibrated and in good working condition.
General Requirements
Comply with all safety regulations and company procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Ensure accurate documentation and quality standards are maintained.
Qualifications
Diploma in ECE, EEE, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
Proven experience in fiber optic installation, splicing, testing, and maintenance.
Proficiency in operating fiber testing and splicing equipment.
Strong knowledge of fiber optic network infrastructure and industry standards.
Good troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and at field sites as required.
