Description

A Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and health of employees and visitors within a workplace. They implement and maintain safety policies, procedures, and standards to prevent accidents and injuries.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conducting safety inspections: Regularly assessing the workplace for hazards and potential risks.
• Developing and implementing safety programs: Creating and managing safety training, emergency response plans, and accident investigation procedures.
• Investigating accidents: Analyzing incidents to identify root causes and recommend preventive measures.
• Enforcing safety regulations: Ensuring compliance with occupational safety and health (OSH) laws and standards.
• Providing safety training: Educating employees on safety procedures, equipment usage, and emergency response.
• Monitoring safety performance: Tracking safety metrics and identifying trends to improve safety culture.
• Collaborating with management: Working with management to integrate safety into the overall business strategy.
Essential Qualifications:
• Strong knowledge of occupational safety and health regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to conduct safety audits and inspections.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• First aid and CPR certification.
• Relevant safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, etc.)
