Job Description - Electrical Engineer (Construction)

Responsibilities:-
• Design and Drafting (AutoCAD):
Electrical System Design: Create detailed electrical designs using AutoCAD, including layouts for lighting, power distribution, fire alarms, and communication systems.
• 3D Modeling (if applicable): Utilize AutoCAD 3D tools for creating more complex designs, allowing for better visualization and planning.
• Project Planning and Coordination:
Technical Specifications: Prepare and review technical specifications for electrical components and systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
• Budgeting and Cost Estimation: Estimate the cost of electrical materials and labor, helping to develop project budgets.
• Material Knowledge:
Electrical Material Selection: Have an in-depth understanding of various electrical materials, including cables, transformers, circuit breakers, conduits, lighting fixtures, and other components.
• Compliance with Standards: Ensure all materials meet local and international electrical standards (e.g., IEC, NEC) and are suitable for the project's environmental conditions.
• Supplier Liaison: Collaborate with local suppliers and vendors to source the best materials within budget and lead time constraints.
• Local Market Knowledge:
Local Codes and Regulations: Be well-versed in local building codes, electrical standards, and regulations that must be adhered to during the construction process.
• Local Supplier Network: Maintain strong relationships with local suppliers and contractors to streamline procurement and ensure quality materials are used.
• Sustainability and Efficiency: Promote energy-efficient solutions and renewable energy sources in line with local and global trends.
• Documentation and Reporting:
Project Documentation: Maintain accurate records of design changes, material orders, and site inspections.
• Progress Reports: Provide regular updates to project managers and stakeholders on the status of electrical works.
• As-Built Drawings: Prepare final as-built drawings reflecting the completed installation for future reference and maintenance.

Qualification :-
Batchelor degree in Electrical Engineering with 10 years experience.
Arabic speaking is proffered.
