Description

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for operating forklifts safely and carefully moving goods between the plant & warehouse.
• Transporting materials to different locations within the facility by safely stacking and unstacking large quantities of goods on-to shelves or pallets.
• Loading, unloading, and receiving materials in the warehouse and moving goods from storage areas to loading areas for transportation.
• After unloading, safely locating the goods to their designated storage areas.
• Optimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency.
• Regularly checking forklift equipment for faults or damages.
• Ensuring that industrial plastic wraps and wooden pallets are used to safely stack and package goods for transport.
• Scheduling Forklifts for a periodic maintenance and repairs.
• Identifying workplace safety hazards & keeping things up-to date and adhering to health and safety requirements in compliance with forklift operating procedures.
• Adhering to production schedules.

Qualifications and requirements:
• High school
• 3-5 years proven experience as forklift operator in a manufacturing industry.
• Accredited forklift operating licence
• Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment.
• Proficiency in operating technical machinery and RF scanners.
• Excellent physical condition and coordination

Competencies
• Ability to work long shifts in cramped, loud and potentially hazardous industrial environments
• Ability to work well in a team with other staff, such as Drivers or Warehouse Packers, to coordinate the movement of goods
• Knowledge of warehouse health and safety requirements, along-with the hazardous materials and their proper storage and handling.
• Knowledge of industrial storage procedures, such as the correct way to stack pallets on top of one another
• Ability to itemize and record stock for inventories
