Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer – Procurement & Commercial (Transmission up to 400 kV)

Location: Kuwait

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Electrical Engineer with strong expertise in procurement, tendering, and commercial management for transmission projects up to 400 kV.

This role combines technical electrical knowledge with commercial and tendering leadership & strictly for Electrical Engineers with transmission project experience.


Key Responsibilities

1. Tendering & Bid Management
• Lead full tendering cycle for transmission projects
• Prepare and review:
• Technical submissions
• Commercial proposals
• BOQs and cost estimates
• Analyze tender documents and contract requirements

2. Procurement Management
• Manage procurement of:
• HV/EHV cables (up to 400 kV)
• Substation equipment (GIS, transformers, switchgear)
• OHL materials
• Evaluate suppliers and negotiate contracts
• Develop approved vendor lists

3. Commercial & Cost Control
• Perform cost analysis and budgeting
• Optimize procurement strategies
• Support contract negotiations and claims

4. Technical & Project Coordination
• Coordinate with engineering teams for technical compliance
• Track procurement vs project schedules
• Support execution with technical-commercial input

Mandatory Requirements

Education
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Mandatory)


Experience
• Minimum 7–12 years experience in:
• Procurement & tendering for transmission projects
• Proven experience in:
• Substations up to 400 kV
• Cable systems up to 400 kV
• Transmission projects

Technical Knowledge
• Strong understanding of:
• Electrical systems and equipment
• Cable specifications and standards
• BOQ and RFQ analysis

Commercial Skills
• Strong negotiation skills
• Experience handling large tenders
• Ability to manage multiple suppliers and bids

Other Requirements
• Kuwait/GCC experience preferred
• Transferable visa preferred
• Strong English communication
