Job Summary
Responsible for drill bit selection, technical support, field service, performance analysis, and optimization of drill bit performance.
Key Responsibilities
• Select proper drill bits based on formation, downhole tool, BHA and drilling objectives.
• Review drilling programs, BHA designs, DDRs and offset well data.
• Provide technical support at the rig site and monitor bit performance.
• Analyze drilling parameters including WOB, RPM, ROP, torque, SPP and flow rate.
• Conduct bit inspection and IADC dull grading after the bit run.
• Analyze bit performance and identify the causes of bit damage.
• Recommend drilling parameter adjustments and suggestions.
• Prepare bit application, performance and field service reports.
• Support customer technical meetings and bit trials.
• Work closely with sales team & bit design team to improve bit performance.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Petroleum Engineering, Drilling Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in oil & gas drilling, preferably with drill bits.
• Good understanding of drilling parameters, BHA, Mud Motor and RSS.
• Basic knowledge of formation/lithology, drilling hydraulics and directional drilling.
• Able to analyze drilling data and bit dull conditions.
• Good English communication and report-writing skills.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Willing to work at rig sites and travel as required.
• Valid driving license preferred.
• Immediate availability is preferred.
