Key Responsibilities

Administrative Support

Manage scheduling, meeting coordination, appointments, and travel logistics for the Government Relations/Administration team.

Maintain office filing systems (hard copy & digital) for government-related documents (licenses, permits, correspondence, resident/employee records).

Prepare correspondence, memos, reports, spreadsheets and presentations as needed.

Handle office supplies, vendor/contractor liaison for administrative services.

Government Relations / Liaison

Assist with processing of visas, work/residence permits, civil-ID renewals, health cards and other employee/documentation tasks in coordination with HR.

Support the renewal or issuance of company trade/industrial/commercial licenses and other government permits/licenses. (E.g., “Handle all government-related work (residency, visas, work permits – new, renewal, or cancellation).”

Keep abreast of local laws/regulations, monitor changes (labor law, immigration, commercial licensing) and escalate any required changes to management. (As shown in the job description for Government Relations Assistant at Nestlé in Kuwait)

Serve as point of contact for government authorities, regulatory agencies, and external service providers related to government/regulatory interactions.

Maintain accurate status trackers for government transactions, deadlines, expirations, renewals and escalate any delays or issues.

Internal Coordination & Compliance

Collaborate with HR, Legal, Operations to ensure all required government-documentation for employees and company (visas, permits, social security, etc) are processed timely.

Monitor compliance with internal policies and external regulatory obligations (e.g., social security contributions, filings) as noted in associate roles.

Generate periodic status reports to management (e.g., pending government applications, upcoming renewals, compliance status).

Assist in audits or internal reviews of government relations / compliance documentation when required.

Candidate Requirements

Education & Experience

High School diploma minimum; Diploma or Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Public Relations, Government Affairs or similar preferred.

2-4 years of relevant experience in administration and/or government liaison role in Kuwait (or GCC) – one listing suggests “minimum 2-3 years” for similar role.

Familiarity with Kuwait’s government processes: immigration/visas, labour law, civil-ID, trade/license renewal etc. (Essential)

Good working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn online government portals.

Skills & Competencies

Strong written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English. (Several Kuwait job ads specify both languages)

Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritise and follow up on multiple tasks simultaneously.

Good interpersonal skills and ability to liaise effectively with both internal stakeholders and government authorities.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive documentation.

Proactive/initiative mindset, problem-solving ability, strong customer service orientation (internal and external).

Valid Kuwait driving licence may be a plus (if role involves travel to government offices).
